Kali Linux no longer has a Release file

Re: Complete Ethical Hacking Course - Vol 1, Lecture 11 Updating Sources and Install.

When I type apt-get update, I receive the following:

root@kali:~# apt-get update
Ing:1 http://ftp.hands.com/kali kali-rolling InRelease
Err:2 http://ftp.hands.com/kali kali-rolling Release
404 Not Found (IP: 104.46.51.121.80)
Reading package list… Done
E: The repository ‘http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling Release’ no longer has a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can’t be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.

Please could someone help me decipher the above and how to get the updates. In my previous post, I mentioned that Heimdal Pro was blocking Kali access to the website so perhaps I should unblock access?

Thank you.

From what I can read the problem is in site access, the system can not read the Release file because it can not access the Release file.
Maybe someone smarter can add more.

Thank you Tiron. That is most helpful. I know what stopping Kali to access the files; it is Heimdal Security and I am going to unblock access to the website since I am using Kali as VM I will be ok.
