Learn Python & Ethical Hacking From Scratch

Zaid, I just started your course on Learn Python & Ethical Hacking from Scratch. I am using Virtualbox and I have both Kali and Windows 10 installed in using NAT, what I am noticing is both VMs are getting the same ip address “10.0.2.15” from Virtualbox.

Kali:
ip a s eth0
2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP group default qlen 1000
link/ether 08:00:27:95:8c:5e brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
inet 10.0.2.15/24 brd 10.0.2.255 scope global dynamic noprefixroute eth0
valid_lft 85457sec preferred_lft 85457sec
inet6 fe80::a00:27ff:fe95:8c5e/64 scope link noprefixroute
valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever

Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Ethernet:

 Connection-specific DNS Suffix  .  :
 Link-local IPV6 Address . . . . . . .  : fe80::f590:a0cd:d841:d69%7
 IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  : 10.0.2.15
 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . . . . .  : 10.0.2.2

I can’t find a way of changing the IP address for one of the VMs so I can follow along.
Please let me know if it is possible or how to work around it.

What happens if you change to nat network?

Sorry, for not getting back sooner. When I set to NAT Network I got the proper IP address.

Thanks
Problem solved.
