NMap Class

Things I have noticed so far. Let me first say I think you are a terrific instructor and I have taken all your courses. I just wish I would have started here and not udemy.

  1. When you play your courses here it does not keep track of progress. I was here yesterday and did 44% of the new course. Today when I logged in, it was at the start.

  2. When you maximize and auto play and auto complete each time you finish a tutorial the full screen goes back to the embedded small screen and you need to click maximize again and again and again… It would be nice if it stayed maximized.

  3. In Nmap Scripting Engine (NSE) Part 4 - Usage and Cool Scripts there is a request for a script - /usr/share/nmap/scripts$ wget http://www.computec.ch/projekte/vulscan/download/nmap nse vulscan-2.0.tar.gz

2017-07-26 08:15:10 ERROR 404: Not Found.

Unless I spelled it wrong I cannot find it. Maybe you could provide another url? If I did spell it wrong or something then forgive this request.

Otherwise, I love everything about StationX… Great work, Great Video and Audio, especially the audio. I have done other classes where the audio changes from tutorial to tutorial. It stinks… So thanks for making such GREAT video classes. Your production team ROCKS!

Kind regards,

Thanks for the feed back. I will see what can be done. It should track progress.

You can find the latest URL here https://www.computec.ch/projekte/vulscan/?s=download

and thank you for the kind words.

Thanks for the link… very odd… I have to look in the video, I have to revisit that part of the tutorial… take a better look. Thanks again!

Hi Nathan, I am running Kali under VMware Workstation on Win7 host. I am in Nmap Discovery Part 1. When I run

nmap -v

it takes quite a while (2 or 3 minutes) and I get a lot of "Increasing send delay " messages, it really seems to having trouble making the connections. Also i get

Initiating Ping Scan

rather than

Initiating ARP Ping

like you did. Is this just a side effect of my setup or is there something I can do to clear this up ?

Note that when I scan outside my local net it is a bit faster but in general noticeably slower than your response times.

[Edit] Well it dawned on me that my VPN might have something to do with this

Yes a VPN would do all this!
