Password length for 256 bit encryption

Hi, Nathan!

in the course you suggest for optimum security for 256 bit encryption at least 43 char passwords. By that do you mean, 43 random chars, or also 43 chars like this:

Hey Dan,

Random characters work best and increase compute time.

Crypt-analytic attacks would check for how substrings are getting encrypted and whether there are patterns in the resulting cipher text.

Any phrase with lots of dictionary words would be easy pickings and hence a randomized set of 43 characters would be better.

Hope this helps!

Thank you!
