Proper commands to install wine and pyinstaller on kali linux 2020

Hi E1,

I am unable to install wine and pyinstaller without errors on my kali 2020 using python 2.7.14. I am trying to use pyinstaller on wine environment to convert python program files to windows executable objects. I was wondering if somebody could help me. It might be other ways to do that I don’t know of. Thank you very much.

Try these commands:

dpkg --add-architecture i386 && apt-get install win32
wine msiexec /i python-2.7.18.msi
wine /root/.wine/drive_c/Python27/python.exe
wine /root/.wine/drive_c/Python27/python.exe -m pip install pyinstaller

Thanks alot. I did those steps as you mentioned and it went all the way to the last step to install pyinstaller and it crashed. Two screen shots are attached to this message the second one has just couple line at the end more than first snap. I couldn’t help myself with the error messages. Thank you very much. Looks like a version issue. You can try two things -

  1. Install the latest pyinstaller version by specifying version like pip install pyinstaller==3.6
  2. Why not install python3 in wine and then install pyinstaller. (Read: How to create Windows EXEs for Python on Linux, using PyInstaller and WINE)

After running the first option, this is the error its displaying:
