Just a quick question, are nmap scans suppose to be typically slow without verbosity increase? If not then is their a specific way I should configure my router?
Another question that I recently came upon. Is their any harm increasing verbosity when scanning external networks?
Thanks in advance
No it’s the opposite. Nmap scans are designed to be fast but not too fast as to DoS the network.
-T affects the speed of the scan
-V does not affect the speed. It only affects the amount of information you see on the screen. Verbose is a standard term used to mean this on many applications.
No harm no, as it’s just the output to the screen it does not change what nmap does.
