Sudo privilages on Debian not allowing user

Hi, I am a newbie here so please forgive any silly questions.
I am almost complete with the first volume of the Compete cyber security course. I downloaded Debian onto my VMware but its not allowing me sudo privileges. Every time I want to execute what is being shown in one to the lessons in the terminal I have to restart Debian in my VM and access sudo privileges through recovery ode. Is there a way to change my user to have sudo privileges? I am very new to Debian and my knowledge is limited. Is my only option to reinstall Debian?

Hey,

Maybe this helps.

If not, take a screenshot of the terminal when you trying to run something with sudo permissions and post it here.

This worked! Thank you so much! :clap:t4:
